Kate had to decorate a pumpkin for her preschool class, and this is her wonderful handiwork.
And Kate recently started writing lower-case letters!
While Mom napped, Kate and Appa made a jack-o-lantern.

And of course, both Laura and Jina included a separate gift for Big Sister Kate -- Laura sent a DVD of Alvin Ailey, which Kate loved ("they're telling a story! That dancer seems sad!"), and Jina-Eemo knitted these finger puppets:
Ever since Nana left on Sunday, Kate has been filling in as Mom and Appa's best helper and baby holder.
Not surprisingly, Kate has the magic touch when it comes to soothing Lily. When she sings to her, the baby immediately calms down and directs her eyes towards her sister's voice.
Lily's eyes were a dark, steel gray when she was born and are slowly turning dark brown, like Kate's and Momma's eyes. And her hair is light brown with frosted blonde tips -- like Vanilla Ice.

Kate was excited to help Appa give Lily a sponge bath to clean off all the breastmilk that's been raining down on her since Mommy's milk came in with a vengeance.

Kate did a great job wiping down Lily gently and rinsing out the washcloth -- Lily was calm and happy the entire time.
Now, if we could only get control of Mommy's overproduction of milk (yes, even her boobs are Type A) and Lily's gas, things would be perfect!
On Saturday, we headed to ACGS' annual Harvest Festival to pick a pumpkin, give Lily some fresh air, and have fun.
Kate met up with Maya and her sister, Bella, and had a nutritious "bucket o' mud" with gummy worms to kickstart the day.
They played a musical book walk game...
...and when the music stopped, the MC called out "Number 7" -- Kate was the winner! She was a little stunned as we hooted and hollered, but recovered long enough to select "How Do Dinosaurs Learn to Read" as her prize. Later on, she also won two rubber duckies in the ring toss game! Go Kate!
